MetaMask is one of the most used crypto address management applications. In fact, MetaMask is a wallet that serves not only to store and send tokens but also to authenticate web pages that integrate Web 3.0 technology. To log in to a website instead of an email address and password you now only need to login through your MetaMask.
Required Information for Connecting to Another Network
The basic configuration of MetaMask is related to Ethereum Mainnet, but can also work with other networks such as Binance Smart Chain, Polygon Network, Avalanche Mainnet, Harmony One, etc. To add a new MetaMask network, you need the following information from that network: Network Name, Network Address (RPC URL), and Network Identification Number (Chain ID). The whole process comes down to two steps.
Step One
Click on “Ethereum Mainnet” at the top right of the avatar icon, and when the menu opens click on “Add Network”.
Step Two
This is the form you need to fill out with the information from the network you want to access through MetaMask. There are only three required fields to fill in: Network Name, RPC URL, and Chain ID.
Final Thoughts
It is very important to add the right network information, so that’s why we recommend you to visit the network’s official website and search for their network name. Please do not add unofficial and suspicious networks on your MetaMask app.
