Kluang, formerly known as Keluang, is a town in the Malaysian state of Johor. The British established Kluang in 1915 as the administrative centre of central Johor. All of Johor's major urban areas are within 90 minutes of this location in the state's centre. With Batu Pahat and Kluang together, central Johor is covered, with a market reach of over 700,000. The economy of Kluang changed from rubber to palm oil during the course of the 20th century, and it today includes some of the biggest organic farms in Malaysia.
