The oldest city in the south is Demnate, which once served as a connecting route between southern Morocco and Marrakech. Demnate's surrounding Berber villages are still rich in history and home to some of the South's most breathtaking natural scenery. The city is close to natural wonders such the Ouzoud Falls, the Iminifery natural land bridge, and dinosaur footprints. It is also bordered by stunning mountains. A few kilometres to the southwest of Demnate sits Rat, one of Morocco's tallest mountains.
