Zimbabwe's Mashonaland Central province contains the town of Bindura. It is 88 kilometres (km) to the northeast of Harare in the Mazowe Valley. The town has 18,243 residents as of the 1982 Population Census. In the 1992 census, it increased to 21,167, and by the 2012 census, it had increased to 46,275.
