Xiluodu 硬币

On the Jinsha River, or the upper stream of the Yangtze in China, the Xiluodu Structure is an arch dam. It is situated in Yongshan County, Yunnan Province, close to the town of Xiluodu, however on the other side of the river, the dam crosses into Leibo County, Sichuan Province. The dam's main function is the production of hydroelectric power, and its power plant has an installed capacity of 13,860 MW. The dam also prevents floods and silt buildup, and its controlled water releases are meant to enhance downstream navigation. The first generator was put into service in 2013, and the last one in 2014. Construction on the dam and power plant began in 2005. It is currently the third-largest power plant in the world, with the fourth-tallest dam, and is run by China Yangtze Power.
