The second-largest city in the Mexican state of Hidalgo is Tulancingo. It is situated in the state's southeast and serves as both the archdiocese of Tulancingo and one of Hidalgo's 84 municipalities. This region, which is 93 kilometres from Mexico City, produces the majority of the nation's wool textiles and was the birthplace of El Santo, one of Mexico's most well-known lucha libre wrestlers. The Huapalcalco archaeological site, which was the ancestor of the Teotihuacan civilization, is also located there. The Nahuatl words "tule" and "tzintle," which mean "in or behind the reeds," are the source of the name. The Aztec glyph on it attests to this.
