Tulagi, also known as Tulaghi, is a tiny island in the Solomon Islands that measures 5.5 by 1 kilometres and has a surface area of 2.08 square kilometres (0.80 sq mi). It is located close off the south coast of Ngella Sule. From 1896 to 1942, the same-named town on the island served as the British Solomon Islands Protectorate's capital. It is now the seat of the Central Province. After World War II, the capital of what is now the state of Solomon Islands was relocated to Honiara, Guadalcanal.
