Trondheim is a city and municipality in the Norwegian county of Trndelag, formerly known as Kaupangen, Nidaros, and Trondhjem. As of 2020, it has 205,332 residents, making it Norway's third-most populous municipality even though it was the country's fourth-largest urban area.
