Tecomán is a city and the administrative centre of the Tecomán municipality in the Mexican state of Colima, 50 kilometres south of the capital Colima. There were 112,726 residents in the city according to the 2005 census. In the state of Colima, it is the third-largest community. The municipality is 834.77 km2 in size. It is situated in a wealthy agricultural industry zone and is referred to as the "lime capital of the world" close to the ocean on Federal Highway 200. Tecomán was the deadliest municipality in Mexico in 2016 as a result of its alarmingly high homicide rate.
