Soledad de Doblado is a municipality located in the semiarid zone of the center of the Mexican state of Veracruz, in the plains of the Sotavento of Veracruz, about 75 km from the state capital of Xalapa. Its surface area is 370.96 km2. The coordinates are 19°03′N 96°25′W. In honour of Manuel Doblado, who made preliminary agreements with representatives of England, Spain, and France here on February 19, 1862, the town of Soledad de Doblado was given that name by decree on June 16, 1896. It was elevated to the status of city by a decree dated November 16, 1961.
