Sheffield, a city in South Yorkshire, England, is the seat of the City of Sheffield's government. The River Sheaf, which flows through the city, gave rise to the name. It was formerly a part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, and several of its southern suburbs, such Mosborough, were given to the city council by Derbyshire. The largest community in South Yorkshire is there.
