The Portuguese nobleman Brás Cubas founded the municipality of Santos in the Brazilian state of So Paulo in 1546. The majority of it is on the island of San Vicente, which is home to both Santos and the city of San Vicente, and the remainder is on the mainland. It serves as the centre of the Baixada Santista metropolitan area. 433,656 people live in a 280.67 km2 (108.37 sq mi) area. The city is home to the Coffee Museum, the former site of international coffee pricing negotiations. The Guinness Book of Records lists its 5,335 m (5,834 yd) long beachfront garden as the biggest seaside garden in the entire globe.
