A county-level city in China's Hubei province is called Chibi. Chibi is referred to as the "South Gate of Hubei" and is situated between Yueyang in the south and Wuhan in the north. It is managed by the prefecture-level city of Xianning. Chibi was called Puqi until 11 June 1998, when the State Council approved its renaming to "Chibi" since it was the site of the famous Battle of Chibi that took place in the winter of 208/9 CE.
