Pokhara, a major city in Nepal, is the administrative centre of the Gandaki Province. After Kathmandu, it has the second-highest population in Nepal, with 518,452 people residing in 101,669 houses in 2021. It is the country's largest metropolitan city in terms of area. The city also houses the Kaski District's administrative centre. 200 kilometres to the west of Kathmandu, the nation's capital, is Pokhara. The city is located at an elevation of roughly 822 metres and is situated on the shore of Phewa Lake.
