Nyon is a municipality in the Swiss canton of Vaud's Nyon District. It is located some 25 kilometers north east of Geneva's city centre, and since the 1970s it has become part of the Geneva metropolitan area. The district's administrative centre is located there on the beaches of Lake Geneva. The town has a population of 21,718 and is well-known in the athletic world for housing both the European Club Association and the Union of European Football Associations' (UEFA) head offices (ECA). The Route Suisse, the A1 Freeway, and the Arc Lémanique Railroads connect it to the rest of Switzerland.
