The administrative hub of the Kheda district is the city of Nadiad, which is located in the Indian state of Gujarat. The Nadiad Municipality is in charge of running the city. The historic Swaminarayan temple established in 1824, the Mai Mandir, the Santram Mandir, and the Anand and Hari Om Ashram are among its well-known landmarks. Shrimad Rajchandra wrote the 142-verse spiritual book Shri Atmasiddhi Shatra in Nadiad in 1895. Nadiad is located 90 kilometres (56 mi) away from Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat. It is a primary station on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route and features a significant railway junction. The first Deputy Prime Minister of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, was born there. In 1866, the Nadiad Municipality was established.
