Murmansk 硬币

In the extreme northwest of Russia, Murmansk is a port city and the seat of Murmansk Oblast's government. It is situated on the banks and slopes of Kola Bay, an estuary entrance of the Barents Sea. Kola Bay is a small fjord. Its main portion is on the inlet's east bank. It is located in the northern part of the oblast's circular Kola Peninsula. The distance between the city and the Norwegian border is 108 km (67 mi), and the distance to the Finnish border is 182 km (113 mi). The name of the city is taken from the Murman Coast, which is itself derived from an old Russian word for "Norwegian."
